Dalmatian Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected

Khloe used to be a bait dog. I got her from the lady who rescued her from that situation. I have recently started to have to work a lot more and she is not getting the attention she needs. I am gone 12 hrs a day... its not fair to her. I am not asking a fee for her. I just want a good home for her. She does not realize how large she is (tries sitting on laps), loves going outside, is great with kids (my kids are little jerks and she loves them).

Dalmatian Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected,
 Aggressive, Fearful/Anxious

It is killing my heart to give my boy away. He is so sweet, loving and listens so well. HI rescued him at 8 months and he was aggressive and territorial at first but with some dedicated time that all went away in the first week. Now in the last year he has randomly had outbursts where he has attacked/bit ourselves and our other dog and we can't seem to pin point what is triggering the instances. I'm afraid of him now and depressed that this fear will now continue to cause the episodes. I pray that someone educated that can figure out his issue and rehabilitate him and love him for the rest of his life.

Rescue Me ID: 17-01-13-00081Norman (male)

Dalmatian Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Norman has come a long way since his rescue off the highway with rope tied around his neck. He still has the physical scars, but his spirit is not deterred and he is eager to give and receive love from people. Norman never meets a stranger and loves to go for walks and car rides. He is housebroken and kennel trained. SouthBARK is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization working hard to rescue unwanted dogs from kill shelters and the streets along the Gulf Coast of Northwest Florida and South Alabama. Because we do not have a facility and we are all volunteers, all monies raised can go directly to where it is needed most- the dogs' care. From ... (Read More)intake through adoption, all SouthBARK dogs and puppies are seen by one of our preferred veterinarians for dewormings, vaccinations, diagnostic testing, medical treatments, microchips and spay/neuter. While we understand there are ways to do things cheaper, it is our desire to provide excellent medical care to our rescued animals. The adoption fee is $200 for adults and $250 for puppies under 6 months. All cats and kittens are $75. All cats, dogs and puppies are up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and are spayed/neuteted. http://form.jotform.us/form/50296064689163? Part of that process is a veterinary reference check. All dogs and cats in the household must be up to date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered, and dogs must be on heartworm prevention . If you do not have a pet and thus have no veterinarian, please list a personal reference who does not live with you. Once the vet reference check is complete, we will make contact with you to discuss the rest of the adoption process which will include a home visit where a team member will meet each member of the family and check your home and yard for safety and security purposes. Our adoption fee is $200 for adults and $250 for puppies under 6 months, which includes spay/neuter, microchip, shots up to what is appropriate for age, and treatment for any medical condition or injury preventing adoption. Dalmatian Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

SHE IS ACTUALLY GOOD WITH DOGS HER SIZE OR BIGGER, but she is not at this point good with any smaller than her. She was found as a stray in Miami. We had a home for her that fell through so I am fostering her without any help from rescue groups at this point. I don't have the time or the room for her but I'm doing my best - and I have 2 small dogs so I must keep her separate at all times. She's young, she needs love and time and training, things I cannot give her. Hoping to find her a home in Florida but I'm willing to do anything within my means to get her the right home that she deserves. She is quiet, house broken, on the small side ... (Read More)(about 30 lbs) and has been spayed and received her vaccines. She's really friendly and just wants love so badly! (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Dalmatian in Florida
Dalmatian Dogs can make good pets in Florida if they match your IifestyIe. Dalmatians are energetic, companionable dogs. Dalmatians need to be with people and may become despondent if left alone. A Dalmatian makes a wonderful pet for families with children but should be supervised with very small kids. Dalmatians are good with other household pets but can be combative with dogs they do not know. Dalmatians have a slight tendency to be high strung or timid if they do not have enough exercise or socialization. Dalmatians are smart but can be stubborn. They respond very well to early, consistent obedience training. Dalmatians need a home with a good sized yard.

lnteresting Dalmatian Trivia Low-Cost Florida Spay & Neuter Clinics
The high energy level of the Dalmatian can be attributed to the fact that the dogs were bred to accompany horse-drawn carriages. Dalmatians are traditional firehouse mascots. Dalmatians may have first been perfected in Yugoslavia or Croatia but the breed dates back thousands of years to ancient Egyptian times.
