Animal ID: 982126050898075May (female)
May was abandoned by her family by surrender. They could no longer care for her special needs due to their own growing family. She very loving, housebroken and leash trained. She knows to go to her crate for quite time and naps. She has been such a blessing to our staff, showing us just how much she has to give despite her disability, how much we all still have.. Please adopt, donate and share.

Rescue Me ID: 17-12-22-00220Simon (male)
Simon is a lovable lap dog, even for his size, he very much still thinks he'a a puppy. Very caring and loving companion, we only have to give him up because he constantly is trying to pick fights with big dogs around our apartment complex. He does not do well with dogs and is very dominant when other dogs are present. He requires a strict diet with Fromm or Call of the Wild dog food, as anything else tends to activate seizure spasms. During heavy thunderstorms he gets anxious and nervous but does much better if he can find a tight spot away from the noise, such as under a bed or a small closet. His coat leaves behind fine white hair and he requires to be sedated in order to get his nails cut,. He loves big open fields and splashing through the lake. We've had Simon for almost 8 years and he was adopted after recently turning 2 years old from a shelter. He bonds rather quickly with new people. An ideal environment for Simon would include a large fenced-in back yard, or private lake access where he could freely roam and run. He needs to be able to stay indoors the majority of the day as he gets extremely anxious if caught out in the rain, he will dog massive holes out of excessive anxiety if left in the rain. His dog food costs about $50-$75 a bag and Will last him about 2-3 months, this is the best use as any other cheaper brand food tends to give him bad seizures, as long as he has quality Fromm or Call of the Wild food, no seizures strike and he doesn't require any medication. The shelter stated that he was found along with his siblings abandoned during a heavy storm which may be why he is so traumatized by the weather. We wouldn't be putting him up for adoption if we were in our old home, but a change in our financial situation is he reason we had to come to an apartment the constant issues with other dogs is the primary reason for us having to find a new home for him. |Rescue Me ID: 17-12-21-00089Adam (male)|
Adam was the the shelter workers favorite at a fast kill/high kill Animal Control facility in Rome GA. A very handsome boy, he is very well mannered + gentlemanly. Seems to have once been a well trained + beloved pet. Fine with other dogs + completely indifferent to cats even when they pass directly by his feet. He loves to be with humans = cuddle + play. Adam should make a great family companion.

Animal ID: 17120400473Jester (male)
Jester had a close call at the shelter in GA; he nearly didn't find us, nor us him. But, he is now in Cumming GA where he has been treated for heartworms and is learning his manners. He now knows sit, down, shake and the almighty word NO! We don't think anyone cared to teach him anything, so this training is a must. Jester is housebroken, good with foster dogs and neighbor dogs and cats too. He does need a fair amount of exercise as he probably is part herding breed and they are always on the go. He lives to hunt squirrels or whatever he can chase. Not always comfortable with strangers, Jester is learning to be social. He would do best in an adult home as he can be temperamental at times. To see Jester, go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9-UDH__8F4. Adoption $300 For more information on Jester, contact Susan at firstname.lastname@example.org. (Less)
Animal ID: 17-07-13-00594Georgia (female)
Georgia is a lovely, very young Dalmatian mix puppy. She loves to cuddle, play, run and give and get kisses. Georgia was being fed by a family who moved away and asked their neighbor to feed her. When Georgia refused to eat, she was brought to the shelter to be cared for. Now in a foster home with young boys 3.5 yrs to 16 + several dogs, Georgia is in her element, overcoming fear of abandonment and really blossoming! Georgia has a unique + strong personality. She loves sticks... She will run into the yard, find a stick, and run up to show you but dash away the minute she gets too close. And squirrels.... She has tried to climb a tree to catch those pesky animals. She runs from one end of the yard to the other, following her nose. She is very playful and loves to be cuddled. Very energetic, as are most puppies but eager to learn. She is not a very large girl (weighing in at 48 lbs), so will fit just about anywhere! She has lots of growing to do yet, and lots of learning. Won't you be her teacher and show her that not all people leave little girls behind! For more information contact Sandy at email@example.com. Adoption $250. (Less)

Dalmatian Dogs can make good pets in Georgia if they match your IifestyIe. Dalmatians are energetic, companionable dogs. Dalmatians need to be with people and may become despondent if left alone. A Dalmatian makes a wonderful pet for families with children but should be supervised with very small kids. Dalmatians are good with other household pets but can be combative with dogs they do not know. Dalmatians have a slight tendency to be high strung or timid if they do not have enough exercise or socialization. Dalmatians are smart but can be stubborn. They respond very well to early, consistent obedience training. Dalmatians need a home with a good sized yard.
