Rescue Me ID: 15-04-25-00154Eli (male)

Dalmatian Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Eli is a special young man who is crazy about squeaky toys and loves spending time with people. He is a bit of a flight risk, and he tends to wander at night, so I'd like him to go to owners who are patient and willing to put in some training hours with him. A fenced-n back yard wouldn't hurt. I would say he isn't good around other dogs and especially not smaller animals like cats or rodents. He's good with older children, but he does not like to be bothered when he is sleeping. He has all the potential of becoming a great friend, so if your thing is taking animals with a couple rough edges and loving them anyway, he's your guy.

Rescue Me ID: 15-04-06-00509Sparkles (female)

Dalmatian Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

After a long ride from GA to MI, Sparkles found a loving foster home with two of our foster dogs in MI because too many people along the way backed out on Sparkles and the supporting rescue group even went out of business. So, we are working to help Sparkles find that forever home. She was found as a stray and had whelped recently. No pups were found with her sadly, so was she just tossed out when no longer needed? From her coloring, build, looks, and actions, we think that she is a Dalmatian-Lab cross. Only about 40 lbs, but stocky like a Labrador, and a little chubby now due to the cold winter, she has pure white hair with pale liver body ... (Read More)spots, brighter liver ear spots, black rimmed eyes & lips, black face spots, black toe pad spots. She really is striking in appearance! Sparkles is very gentle, loves to give nonstop slurpy kisses, has lots of energy, loves to run run run, loves the woods & fields, and walks very nicely on leash. She will walk for miles if you want to! She can also strip & eat wild blackberries from the canes without getting thorns! Now that's a very unique talent!! She sleeps on the couch, on a blanket, or the bed... Sparkles has little sense of personal space, so she might bonk you in the face with her nose accidentally, or jump on the bed and land on you! She is good in the house and with other dogs as well. Sparkles is very intense when learning, and learns quickly! For more info, contact Nancy at divona98@yahoo.com or 989-858-1060. (Less)

Pinta is a gorgeous blend of everything good! This unique spotted girl with the permanent eyeliner will win your heart. She is a wriggly one year old and approx. 40 lbs. PIease Read Before Adopting a Dalmatian in Michigan
Dalmatian Dogs can make good pets in Michigan if they match your IifestyIe. Dalmatians are energetic, companionable dogs. Dalmatians need to be with people and may become despondent if left alone. A Dalmatian makes a wonderful pet for families with children but should be supervised with very small kids. Dalmatians are good with other household pets but can be combative with dogs they do not know. Dalmatians have a slight tendency to be high strung or timid if they do not have enough exercise or socialization. Dalmatians are smart but can be stubborn. They respond very well to early, consistent obedience training. Dalmatians need a home with a good sized yard.

lnteresting Dalmatian Trivia Low-Cost Michigan Spay & Neuter Clinics
The high energy level of the Dalmatian can be attributed to the fact that the dogs were bred to accompany horse-drawn carriages. Dalmatians are popular in the media; a good example of their charismatic appeal is the Disney movie, 101 Dalmatians. Ten to twelve percent of Dalmatians are deaf. Dalmatians are traditional firehouse mascots.
