Dalmatian Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Most Cats
Personality: Average Temperament
Health: Neutered

From south TX, little (only 30#) Marshall was found as a forgotten stray. He is under treatment now for several tick diseases and heart worm but he acts fine and he is very happy. Initially timid, Marshall is quite social now. He has the cutest smile due to his overbite and he is doing well with the foster dogs and seems okay with the resident cat too. Completely housebroken and good on the leash, Marshall has good house manners but would love to sleep with someone. He also now enjoys lap time when mom is home. He is a hunter outside so watch out varmints and lizards! Squirrels too! Here is a small package with lots of room to grow! For more ...     Coco is a thin, happy, lively +affectionate dalmatian who was surrendered to DRC by her owner/breeder. Dalmatian Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Most Cats
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered

A very scared little man in a big city. Tommy was a terrified stray that came very close to dying in the big spooky shelter. All he did was shake and shake, so he had no option for adoption. With us, however, Tommy is a new dog and even the urine stains are disappearing. He has been 100% housebroken, and is crate trained, and \well mannered and just plain happy. This big fella (weighs #65) is a playful man who loves romping with the other dogs and also car rides. He might take objection to a male dog in his face, but generally he is all play. Tommy has met a kitty and wasn't excited at all, so likely he would be fine with cats. Being young, ... (Read More)our boy might pick up something he shouldn't, but he is truly growing into a very nice young man. He has even taken up jogging and doing quite well. Again, being young he should not jog too frequently, but he sure loves it. Currently in foster in Houston. For more information contact Charles at charless787@yahoo.com. Adoption $250. Back (Less)

Roscoe is a beautiful and well behaved puppy, rescued from a high kill shelter. He has an excellent disposition, very sweet, and loves to play with other dogs, small or large breeds, and he also adores to play with children. We don't recommend small tots unsupervised.     The name says it all! Happy is both gorgeous and lovable. Though his start in life may be been less than great, he has not let that dim his enthusiasm for life. He loves people and would be the happiest 'frogging' dog in the world to be someone's best buddy. Even though Happy likes everyone, he would do better in a home with no children under 12 and best with children who understand how to manage dogs like Happy. He is too much dog for a child who has never had a dog before. His enthusiasm and strength would not thrill most children. He does like cats, other dogs, and horses, but would be best as an only dog so that he gets all the ... (Read More)attention. Having play dates with compatible dogs would be wonderful though in his new home. Happy is 55lbs of LARGE personality and will constantly make you smile and laugh! He will be a great training prospect because he loves to work and learn and he will be a great walking or running companion. He just wants to be with his best friend! His morning wake up routine is the best, slow snuggle of the day. No early morning weekend for this one, if you want to sleep in. Oh, and did we mention that he is deaf? This makes Happy a great apartment pal (with plenty of exercise) because no noises will bother him! Come When Called you say? What a great game! Happy comes with some free and discounted training at The Canine Center for Training and Behavior, www.morefunthandirt.com, in Austin. Training a deaf dog is really no different, and in some ways easier, than training a hearing dog. Happy is crate trained, house trained, healthy and ready to go. He is also a good agility prospect because he is fearless on the equipment. He is currently fostered in Austin. For more information, contact Jane at jane.delre@tcctb.com. Adoption $300. (Less)

I would like to introduce you to Pepper. She is a sweet loving 10 month old dalmatian mix. She was initially on the kill list in a local shelter for being fearful. She has been with us for several months and we are working on her fears. She has completed basic puppy training and knows several commands. Sit, Stay, Down and go to your mat. She takes treats nicely as well. When she is fed, she needs a slow bowl as she gobbles her food down pretty fast. Pepper is totally vetted. She is up to date on her shots, spayed and is Heartworm negative and on preventative. She has been chipped and registered for life. The perfect owner for Poppy will ... (Read More)be one without younger children as she is playful and loves to run. A young child she can knock down. Pepper loves to play and will give you lots of kisses and loves to have her tummy rubbed too. Pepper is crate trained, yet she will need an person that is home most of the day so she is not always crated. She needs the freedom to be out with her people so that she will feel secure and overcome her fears. Someone will need to be willing to spend time with her in order for her to be secure. Her perfect home will add her to their family and not let her remain outside without supervision. She will be treated as part of the family and live indoors. I think Pepper might be good with other dogs if an introduction is done properly. I would like her though to be in a home without them as she tends to play very rough and is mouthy and nips, playfully. The perfect owner will give Pepper love, discipline, and a routine. The perfect home will have a fenced in yard so that she is able to run and get the exercise she needs. She LOVES to run. The perfect home will not have any cats either. She does not like them and will chase them and possibly do harm to them, like kill them. If you are willing to be that perfect home for her, please let us know by filling out an application. PIease Read Before Adopting a Dalmatian in Texas
Dalmatian Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. Dalmatians are energetic, companionable dogs. Dalmatians need to be with people and may become despondent if left alone. A Dalmatian makes a wonderful pet for families with children but should be supervised with very small kids. Dalmatians are good with other household pets but can be combative with dogs they do not know. Dalmatians have a slight tendency to be high strung or timid if they do not have enough exercise or socialization. Dalmatians are smart but can be stubborn. They respond very well to early, consistent obedience training. Dalmatians need a home with a good sized yard.
