Rescue Me ID: 18-04-22-00208Milo (male)
Milo has been a great family pet! He is an outside dog, but does come with a crate we used to bring him in during bad weather. Very good with his doggy friend Stripes (also up for adoption). We are very sad to need to re-home.

Rescue Me ID: 18-04-20-00023Sparky (male)
Sparky had once been a house dog and was then tossed outside to live. He was in the local shelter several times because the owners did not have a secure fence and he was running the neighborhood. The shelter asked us to take him so that they did not have to return him to his owners and luckily they did not want him. The boy was just lonesome and bored and he managed to get out of the fence to have a good time. Today in a foster home in Georgetown, Mr. Sparky has shown that he is fine in a 4' fence and with female dogs and mellow male dogs, both large and small. He is very respectful of his foster sibling's space. Sparky loves to have your attention, just like all Dalmatians. Where you go, Sparky will be right by your side! He has a quiet nature, is housebroken and crate trained, and this boy is ready for that loving home that he should have had all along. He seems to like kids but has only met them thru the fence, where he did give little fingers big kisses. No cats, however! Sparky is great on a lead (unless he sees a cat) and knows sit. He is 7 yrs old, neutered, utd on vaccines and currently undergoing treatment for heartworms. DRC will provide meds and support for continued treatment. He's a good boy and will make someone an amazing companion. For more information, contact Lynn at email@example.com. |Rescue Me ID: 18-02-26-00391Iris (female)|
Iris is Super Urgent! Please share this baby on Fb if you see and read her ad. Thank you so much! **Owner Surrender Disclaimer: These are blind and visually impaired dogs that are living in homes, but their owners can no longer keep them. These dogs are with their owners, and are not in BDRA foster homes. We do our best to screen these dogs, but make no guarantees regarding the information posted.** 'Please know that as much as we wish we could, we are unable to help with transport.' Update 2/26/18 - I spoke to her owner and Iris is still in urgent need of a rescue and is still being confined to the laundry room. Her owners write that she was originally adopted from a shelter for their daughter, but Iris became too much for them to manage. They know she needs more than they can give, and they are desperately hoping we can help. Name: Iris Breed: Heeler/Dalmatian Mix Sex: Female (spayed per owner) Age: 1 year, 4 months Location: Bryan, TX Vet Info: Iris is spayed and up to date on vaccines per her owner. She has had a recent heartworm test, but her owners do not recall the results have offered to pay for another heartworm test. Iris weighs about 60 pounds. She is completely blind from glaucoma. Her owners tell us that her labs and eye pressures were normal at her last vet visit. Owner Info: Iris's owners write, 'She's a dog that needs a lot of time spent with. She chews and chews and chews and I have lost so many items from her chewing. Now, Iris is blind from glaucoma and we keep her in the laundry room. I can not let her roam the house due to her tearing things up....She is a very smart dog and very loving but I have no time to give her.' They have tried a trainer, but their daughter did not have the time to invest in training. Iris is an indoor dog confined to one area of the house. She is housebroken and leash trained. Iris is a smart girl and knows the commands, sit and lay down. She is described as outgoing, and is a friendly girl. Iris is good with men and women, male and female dogs, and cats, and currently lives with two cats and two other dogs. Iris's owners also feel she'd be good with children, and gave us more details: 'As far as children, my youngest is 11 so I've not seen her with children. I would spend some time throwing her ball in the back yard until she went inside, but sadly those days are gone. She's a sweet dog and my guess would be she's fine with young children. She jumps up on the others at times but not me... so I know she is very trainable. There is just not enough time spent with her.' Iris is not possessive of toys, treats, or food and has never bitten or snapped. Iris's owners want us to know what a sweet girl she is and are very much hoping we can help! 'She is a very loving dog. Very sweet and always wants to please.' Please email OS@blinddogrescue.com if you are interested in Iris. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 18-02-03-00317Cinder (male)
Cinder is a happy laid back kind of guy abandoned by the owner to be put to sleep due to family squabbling! Shelter would not put down such a nice dog and neither would we. He loves to lounge but also has a playful side to him as well. He loves his floppy raccoon but fetch is not one of his favorite games! He is good cats and small children! Cinder can be selective about other dogs so we prefer an only dog home or a home with an experienced adopter and stable dogs. He doesn't mind a kennel but does not need one. He also loves car rides and also does great on walks, even walking next to a stroller. He does not pull while being walked on a leash as well. Thunderstorms mean nothing to him and Cinder prefers his bed over a couch but doesn't mind giving some snuggle time if you ask for it. He knows basic commands and loves being rewarded with treats. Says his first foster mom: Cinder is such an amazing dog and we have been honored to have him in our home. Cinder is now in Manvel, TX foster home. |Rescue Me ID: 18-01-29-00530Duke (male)|
Poor Duke. He was a family pet and then rehomed because the children were too active and rambunctious for him. After several years, Duke was found as a stray in a large TX city and landed in a large, high-kill shelter. There was no response from the second owner, who apparently no longer cared...if they ever did. His first owner tried to make a home for him but the other dogs in the home kept attacking Duke, so he is now one of us. Duke is a really sweet guy who is quick to offer you a Dally smile. He is crate and potty trained, walks well on a leash and has never met a stranger. Duke needs to be an only dog. He hasn't been tested with cats but we are also requiring no cats. Duke is Heartworm positive and currently being treated. Please fill out an application through http://dalmatianrescueco.org/dr_adopt.shtml (Less)

Meet Mr. Milo, a foster most favored that is 8 years old. He follows his foster momma and nibbles her fingers and goes for car rides often. He is a most wonderful visitor. Coming from a hell-hole shelter in south TX, Milo tested positive for a tick disease but he is now healed. In his foster home outside of Houston TX, Milo is so good with the other dogs. For anyone interested in this super boy in CO, there are paid transports to CO weekly from Houston. He would love to head north to CO or even points further north. Please fill out an application through http://dalmatianrescueco.org/dr_adopt.shtml
Animal ID: 17-12-04-00488Paisley 5 (female)
Paisley is a happy, healthy one year old bundle of playful love who found herself in a southern TX shelter! No one came for this little lady, but she understands basic commands and is crate trained, so why not? Paisley loves to play fetch and soccer with the tennis ball and she loves the water so she's easy to bathe. Paisley is great with other dogs but not always with cats and she has way too much energy for young children. This little love bug would love to cuddle and play with teens, however. Now north of Dallas in Crossroads TX, Paisley is awaiting your application!
Animal ID: 17695Stone (male)
Stone #17695 Dalmatian/Pointer/Lab Mix - About a year old- Sweetest boy everrrrr. Knows how to shake hands and how to sit. Quite the prankster!! Playful with a great personality! Neutered and vaccinated! Stella and Stone were brought in as strays together but Stella has been adopted leaving Stone all alone. They said he cried when she left. But dogs are amazing at adapting to any situation thrown at them and he will be fine--he just needs his own home. Stone is white with black patches and spots. Stone looks like he may have some Dalmatian mixed in. He is a very sweet dog who loves people and other dogs--he loves attention! Stone is also an awesome running buddy! ***For dogs in the Euless Animal Shelter, please contact Jesica at 214-709-3332, firstname.lastname@example.org or you may contact the Shelter at 817-685-1594, 1517 Westpark Way in Euless.*** (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-09-12-00243Hope (female)
Hello, my name is Hope! I'm 2 years old, spayed, and an obedience class graduate, that is heartworm negative! I was found by a good Samaritan that saw me get hit by a car. I was taken to an awesome Animal Hospital where they made me better! When they thought they found my forever home, I was actually dropped off 100 Miles away! The Animal Hospital came to my rescue again. I'm currently staying with my foster family until I am able to find my forever home. I'm great with people and children but not other animals. (NO CATS, NO DOGS). I do have allergy issues and require daily medicine (Apoquel), other then that, I'm a cuddler, a lover, and know how to veggie in front of the T.V. I'm not a barker, I'm potty trained, and love car rides! (Less)

Marshall...he loves to sunbathe, cuddle, and be by your side. From south TX, little (only 30#) Marshall was found as a forgotten stray. He is under treatment now for heartworms and doing well. He has the cutest smile due to his overbite and he is doing well with the foster dogs. Good on the leash, Marshall has good house manners but would love to sleep with someone. He enjoys adventures, loves the water and has even been kayaking. He is a hunter outside so varmints and lizards watch out! Squirrels too! Marshall needs a home with no cats. Here is a small package with lots of room to grow! For more information, contact Tena at email@example.com

Rescue Me ID: 16-05-26-00228Pepper (female)
I would like to introduce you to Pepper. We truly believe she is a Dogo Argentina girl. She is a sweet loving 2yr old bull dog mix. She was initially on the kill list in a local shelter for being fearful. We saved her and she was at a prior foster that let her run wild. She sustained an injury to her neck so we brought her back to our base here. She has healed fine and loves to run and play. She does not like other dogs except her sister Poppy and hates cats. She takes treats nicely as well. She is fed with a slow bowl as she gobbles her food down pretty fast. Pepper is totally vetted. She is up to date on her shots, spayed and is Heartworm negative and on preventative. She has been chipped and registered for life. The perfect owner for Poppy will be one without younger children as she is playful and loves to run. A young child she can knock down. Pepper loves to play and will give you lots of kisses and loves to have her tummy rubbed too. Pepper is crate trained, yet she will need an person that is home most of the day so she is not always crated. She needs the freedom to be out with her people. If Pepper sees dogs on the other side of a fence, she will become fence aggressive and chase the other dog, so a stockade fence would be ideal. Her perfect home will add her to their family and not let her remain outside without supervision. She will be treated as part of the family and live indoors. I think Pepper might be good with other dogs if an introduction is done properly. . The perfect owner will give Pepper love, discipline, and a routine. The perfect home will have a fenced in yard so that she is able to run and get the exercise she needs. She LOVES to run. The perfect home will not have any cats either. She does not like them and will chase them and possibly do harm to them, like kill them. If you are willing to be that perfect home for her, please let us know by filling out an application. We do not place dogs in townhomes, condos are apartments. Pepper is currently at our base with her sister Poppy. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Dalmatian in Texas
Dalmatian Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. Dalmatians are energetic, companionable dogs. Dalmatians need to be with people and may become despondent if left alone. A Dalmatian makes a wonderful pet for families with children but should be supervised with very small kids. Dalmatians are good with other household pets but can be combative with dogs they do not know. Dalmatians have a slight tendency to be high strung or timid if they do not have enough exercise or socialization. Dalmatians are smart but can be stubborn. They respond very well to early, consistent obedience training. Dalmatians need a home with a good sized yard.
