Dalmatian    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Sweet little Ember was found wandering down a country road. She was never claimed, even though she is very social with people and quite pretty. Ember is a very playful 2 year old and still acts as a puppy in many ways; although she is well disciplined for her age. She loves squeak toys and playing ball. She also loves people and enjoys playtime outside. Inside the home she is a true companion and will follow you into every room. When it's time to settle down she will be happy to cuddle up with you. Ember does not care for other animals especially other dogs. She is kennel trained, but does not care for it if people are home. She does well in ... (Read More)the house when you are away for a few hours; however, she has been known to steal from the kitchen counters if there is something she wants. This can be easily broken with some training. The key to Ember is playing with her and staying in consistent routine as much as possible. When she does something wrong she seems to respond well to stern verbal corrections. She is completely house broken and will dance around or scratch at the door when she needs to go out. Likely not good with cats but we are not totally sure of this. Ember loves to ride in vehicles and when traveling settles down after a few minutes and takes a nap form most of the trip. Dalmatian Mix    Age: Puppy

Sugar, is as you can guess, is sweet! She is friendly, wants to please people and loves her toys. She is good with dogs of all sizes, Chihuahuas on up, but cats are unknown. Her nature is such, however, that cats should not be an issue. Once adopted by the shelter in CO to a family with young children, it is no surprise that Sugar was returned as being too assertive. Unless you know what you are doing, or can manage kids and puppies properly, young dogs and young children don't always mix well. Sugar is a lemon Dal mix (spots are very light but she has them!). She is not even two years old and is still an energetic puppy. She loves toys but ... (Read More)will gut them usually, like most puppies do. Belly rubs are Sugar's delight. She is house broken and crate trained. This little agile thing can go over a 4' fence so a higher fence is needed. She also travels well in the car and is ready for a road trip that will take her to her new home. For more information contact Jon at (660) 233-1295. She is currently in Concordia, MO. (Less)

Tank may not have lots of spots, but he's a great Dalmatian Wannabe anyway! This big ole boy, about 70 lbs, who was tossed into a shelter when the landlord changed his mind about him. He needs a 6-foot fence, otherwise he will go a walking if a squirrel makes him jump! This boy is good with female dogs but is a little nervous (timid) around some male dogs. Tank does take over his share of the furniture, but what a sweetie. He is good in the house, housebroken, and a good companion who likes to sleep on the couch at night. Currently in Concordia, MO, you can talk to his foster mom Jon at Adoption $150. How about a Happy ... (Read More)MO BIG BOY for your couch? (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Dalmatian in Missouri
Dalmatian Dogs can make good pets in Missouri if they match your IifestyIe. Dalmatians are energetic, companionable dogs. Dalmatians need to be with people and may become despondent if left alone. A Dalmatian makes a wonderful pet for families with children but should be supervised with very small kids. Dalmatians are good with other household pets but can be combative with dogs they do not know. Dalmatians have a slight tendency to be high strung or timid if they do not have enough exercise or socialization. Dalmatians are smart but can be stubborn. They respond very well to early, consistent obedience training. Dalmatians need a home with a good sized yard.

lnteresting Dalmatian Trivia Low-Cost Missouri Spay & Neuter Clinics
The high energy level of the Dalmatian can be attributed to the fact that the dogs were bred to accompany horse-drawn carriages. Dalmatians are popular in the media; a good example of their charismatic appeal is the Disney movie, 101 Dalmatians. Dalmatians are traditional firehouse mascots. Dalmatians may have first been perfected in Yugoslavia or Croatia but the breed dates back thousands of years to ancient Egyptian times.
