I'm only 18 years old and I've had to move away from my home and have nowhere to keep her. Can't find available rescue group or humane society with opening. She is currently at my moms house and is in desperate need of a home. She loves kids and is not so good with certain people and dogs. She is spayed and very territorial but she is very loving and affectionate to.

Dalmatian Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected,
 Aggressive

Meet May, a seven month old Dalmatian/Lab mix puppy. May has had a hard life up to date and is looking for a forever home that can devote the individual attention and love that she deserves. We suspect that she was abused before being taken to her first home because of her skittish nature. She'll take a little while to warm up to you, but once she does, she just wants to be embraced. She has snapped occasionally at smaller dogs and small children when they approach her, most likely out of stress rather than aggression, but we still use caution. She seems to be fine around older kids and she has never been around larger dogs. She shows a ... (Read More)little bit of food aggression as well, so she'll need her own space for eating. She's a skinny but sweet little girl who deserves a second chance at having a loving home. Her current family has very small children and just didn't have the compatibility with May that they would like. With a little bit of love and devotion, this speckled little puppy could be a great part of your home! Her adoption fee is $50.00 and with her adoption you get a reduced cost spay ($65), vaccination, and a free vet visit within three days of the adoption through Marion Animal Hospital in Marion, NC. May is not currently in a Mercy Fund foster home, this is a courtesy post by Ashton H. for a friend. Rather than applying through the site, all applications and inquiries can be sent via email at ashtonhasheart@yahoo.com (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Dalmatian in North Carolina
Dalmatian Dogs can make good pets in North Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. Dalmatians are energetic, companionable dogs. Dalmatians need to be with people and may become despondent if left alone. A Dalmatian makes a wonderful pet for families with children but should be supervised with very small kids. Dalmatians are good with other household pets but can be combative with dogs they do not know. Dalmatians have a slight tendency to be high strung or timid if they do not have enough exercise or socialization. Dalmatians are smart but can be stubborn. They respond very well to early, consistent obedience training. Dalmatians need a home with a good sized yard.

The high energy level of the Dalmatian can be attributed to the fact that the dogs were bred to accompany horse-drawn carriages. Dalmatians are traditional firehouse mascots.
