Dalmatian Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Spot is a 45 lb. wonderful, friendly, loving dog who is leash trained, but could use more time training. He knows the commands 'Sit' and 'Down'. He came to PAWS after being abandoned and living outside under a trailer with two other dogs. Since being rescued, he's been in foster in a very large outdoor kennel so we're unsure about house training. As smart as this dog is, he'll pick up potty training quickly if he already doesn't know how to from his previous life. Spot is great with other dogs, but unknown about cats. The foster feels he would be OK because he's also around their farm animals and does fine. He's wonderful around kids ... (Read More)as he's been fostered with very young children and plays appropriately. His energy level is a 7 out of 10. He loves to sleep on top of his dog house, and loves to smile big showing all of his teeth. Spot wants to be inside with his people, but also allowed appropriate outdoor exercise time where he would run off his puppy energy. (Less)

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

I'm a very sweet terrier mix who loves to run and play with my canine playmates at Godbey Creek. Although I've been known to chase a skunk or two, I've learned my lesson and am 'fragrance free'! I'm crate trained, have begun my house training and am leash trained. I've also been spayed and heart worm tested; have had my immunizations (parvo, distemper, rabies & Bortatella); and am on heart worm and flea preventative.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Dalmatian in North Carolina
Dalmatian Dogs can make good pets in North Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. Dalmatians are energetic, companionable dogs. Dalmatians need to be with people and may become despondent if left alone. A Dalmatian makes a wonderful pet for families with children but should be supervised with very small kids. Dalmatians are good with other household pets but can be combative with dogs they do not know. Dalmatians have a slight tendency to be high strung or timid if they do not have enough exercise or socialization. Dalmatians are smart but can be stubborn. They respond very well to early, consistent obedience training. Dalmatians need a home with a good sized yard.

lnteresting Dalmatian Trivia Low-Cost North Carolina Spay & Neuter Clinics
The high energy level of the Dalmatian can be attributed to the fact that the dogs were bred to accompany horse-drawn carriages. Ten to twelve percent of Dalmatians are deaf. Dalmatians may have first been perfected in Yugoslavia or Croatia but the breed dates back thousands of years to ancient Egyptian times.
